Summary: I have close to 20 years of experience in working with children, adolescents (and their families) with behavioral challenges in the Treatment Foster System and private practice. I believe that a systemic approach to healing provides the most lasting benefits to the entire family. I also use a client centered approach to promote self-acceptance, improve self-esteem and increase confidence in relationships through positive communication skills. I believe in taking a collaborative approach with clients and using their strengths to encourage change and overcome difficulties. As I have extensive experience working in the foster care system, I can work well with foster families and the unique issues that they experience. I treat both the child and their experiences as well as the foster family's adjustment to the child placed with them. Therapy is a very personal journey that happens in chapters, just as most people do not read a book in one sitting, I believe that therapy is best digested much the same way, chapter by chapter. I am honored to be the one chosen to accompany you on your journey towards healing and will encourage you to want more but I also understand that it will happen in your timeframe of readiness. I applaud the courage that it takes to say “I am ready now” and will be there to support you and assist you as long as I am allowed to be.
